Famous Last Words: Week 15

This will be my final “Famous Last Words” post… and let me just say…I ONLY NEE FOUR MORE POINTS!

I guess I am going to wait for the comment groups to open tomorrow, so I can post my comments and be done with this class!

Not that I did not enjoy this class, because I did, but I have so much other stuff to catch up on, it will be so nice not thinking about this class anymore!

I feel bad for my boyfriend because he has tests this week, next week, and finals week! I feel like I have it somewhat easy finishing everything up on Monday.

But I guess that’s the beauty of taking an easy semester of classes for my last semester.

If anyone is an Ad or PR major and will be taking capstone next semester, I highly recommend you come to the presentations on Monday so you can see what you will be doing. I wish I would have went last semester so I would have been better prepared for the course, but hey, you live and learn, right?

Currently, I am trying to come up with anything I can write about in order to reach my word minimum because I really just want to go to bed! I had a long day and have another one tomorrow! I am very excited yet nervous for my interview tomorrow and could probably use some good sleep!

These last few weeks have been so stressful with capstone deadlines that I really have not slept well. I think my lack of sleep and stress has also made me feel a little sick. But I just keep reminding myself that it is ALMOST over! I only have a few more days!

Congrats to all the other graduating with me in a few weeks! And good luck to the rest of you continuing your college careers!

Growth Mindset: Week 15

Meme found on PopSugar

Since this is my growth mindset post for the LAST week of one of my LAST classes, I felt this was appropriate!

College was not easy by any means! But it was fun and memorable, and lets be honest, sometimes not so memorable! I still find it hard to believe that I am actually graduating, but hey we all do eventually, right?

Review: Week 15

I found this post from the announcements extremely relatable!

As I finish my last few classes and assignments of my under grad career, I am absolutely they confident cat! I know I am so close the end, that there is nothing but confident I can be!

Sadly, I wish I would have looked at the announcements more often because I saw some events as I scrolled through the last few weeks that I would have loved to attended!

I found this very interesting. I used a list similar to this for one of my capstone papers. We had a very strict maximum word limit of 250 words for an assignment I could have written many pages on. I need a way to shorten my paper without losing any meaning. This is the kind of list I will keep with me for a very long time!

Growth Mindset: Week 14

I decided to do the growth mindset on finding meme's. I personally find this rivalry a big deal because I was born and raised in Stillwater. Mike Gundy's wife was actually my babysitter/nanny when I was young. Then as I grew up and the Gundy's had kids I began to babysit them. There are a lot of meme's about both teams and bedlam, but I find this one funny because I know Mike would never utter those words.

I have never done a growth mindset post so I am not even sure if I did this right, but we'll see!

Reading Evaluation

What readings did you like best?
-Personally, I liked the all the different fairytales and folktales. It was interested to see how different cultures took the same “tale” and made it their own.

What reading diary strategies were most effective for you?
-I never found a reading strategy that I really thought was very effective, because I was usually rushed to do my reading diaries. I wish I had given myself more time to read and take good notes through out the semester.

What did you think of the overall balance between reading - writing - commenting in the class assignments?
-I thought the balance of all the assignments was very easy and fair. It was my own fault when I would miss something or fall behind.

As you look back from the end of the semester, what advice about the reading do you have for students who will be getting started next semester?
-TIME MANAGEMENT. That is my only piece of advice. Make time for this class and it will be so worth it. Also, work ahead! I saw people finish the entire class before we left for OU/Texas. Making time and working ahead will benefit you for sure.

Reflections

One of the biggest skills I gained from this class was opening up my mind to become more creative. Before this class, I never considered myself to have an imagination or to be very creative.

I also learned a lot about editing. Since I am perusing a job in the advertising field, it is important to know how to edit quickly and accurately. I saved many of the links from the editing options that way I can access them in the future as well.

I feel like this class let me open up without being scared. If this was a class in person and we had to read these stories aloud or something, I would have failed. I am easily scared and intimidated by what other might think. However, posting these stories online made it easier for me because I knew I did not have to worry about anyone’s judgments.
